Synopsis:
A simple duet of musical pipes would instigate a complicated love story. During Emperor Kang Xi's 18th year of reign, he was escorted by imperial guard Nalan Rong Ruo during an outing. While Kang Xi played the song "Moon Rising" on his reed pipe, someone was accompanying him on her pan pipe from a distant location. Rong Ruo realized that it was his cousin, Wei Lin Lang, and was overcome with emotion. Kang Xi then ordered Prince Fu Quan to find the palace maid playing the pan pipe so that she could be betrothed to Rong Ruo. However, upon finding Lin Lang, Fu Quan realized that Kang Xi also had feelings for her, thus he secretly decided to pull a switch by selecting someone else to be betrothed to Rong Ruo and ordered Lin Lang to serve Kang Xi instead. It was only after Kang Xi fell deeply in love with Lin Lang that he learned she was actually the cousin Rong Ruo was in love with all along...

[Drama Reviews] 旋风少女Taekwondo Girl
[Drama Review] Taekwondo Girl
Taekwondo Girl
Quick Synopsis:
The story tells the journey of our heroine who has a fondness for Taekwondo ever since she was little. After her parents died in a tragic car accident, our heroine (Hu Bing Qing) is adopted and raised by a Master Taekwondo whose skills and reputation have been defamed by his enemies. Honest, righteous, and determined to succeed, she gradually transforms from a weed into a professional Taekwondo fighter. On her path to hone her exceptional talents, our heroine is loved and supported by three men.

Hu Bing Qing as Qi Bai Cao
She did fairly well considering her amateur status. Her fight scenes could have do better without those serious green screens. However, her character did get a little draggy towards the end. Not to mention, how irritating her love triangle is.
Yang Yang as Ruo Bai
Finally, no bangs to cover his handsome face! The pretty boy did extraordinary well in his senior role! His feelings for Bai Cao was demonstrated very well and he did looked sick when he's suppose to. Come on, no one dislikes a charming senior that's fierce yet caring at the same time.
Zhao Yuan Yuan as Fang Ting Yi
I've seen her in some previous projects, she definitely can act. Her only weakness, was her heavy accent. I got really irritated by her constant cries of "Chu Yuan Ge Ge".
Chen Xiang as Fang Ting Hao
Fang Ting Hao is hands down, my favorite character in this show! The typical rich kid likes poor girl, but don't get the girl plot. I confess, i have second lead syndrome.
Bai Jing Ting as Yu Chu Yuan
Chu Yuan is my least favourite character in this show. His appearance in the show was just to come into Bai Cao and Ruo Bai's relationship. Also, the whole drama has been emphasizing that he is an all time Taekwondo expert, without showing any of his fight scenes.
I got turned off whenever he appeared.
Jiang Yi Yi as Jing Min Zhu
Little child star, Jiang Yi Yi did get on my nerves as the loud and daring korean brat Jin Min Zhu. Her failed korean accent made her all the more adorable.
Li Xue Ying as Li En Xiu
The character that the whole drama was all about, Li En Xiu.
She had limited screen time and she did, deliver a pleasant performance. Looking forward to more of her future projects!
Seven Tan as Fan Xiao Ying, Yu Ting Er as Qu Guang Ya
Seven Tan and Yu Ting Er plays the typical female lead's best friend. Seven's constant tries at chasing her dear senior Ruo Bai always managed to cracked me up. Yu Ting Er's expressions are really stiff and limited. She is, believe it or not, just 15.
Leo Wu as Hu Yi Feng
Little hottie, Leo was over-exaggerating in some scenes, but when he's this hot, who cares?
Leo Wu as Hu Yi Feng and Seven Tan as Fan Xiao Ying
This noona-dongseng relationship totally cracked me up. I prefer this cute pairing over the leads, simply because it was really too draggy and nothing progresses.
All in all, if you are a fan of the leads, do give this drama a try, however you will be disappointed at the floppy ending. Heard that there will be a season 2!

It started off pretty well, but becomes draggy and pointless towards the end. Nonetheless, still a good catch with a great cast.

Due to an accident, Xin loses her memory, and therefore, Du Xiao Han (Yang Rong) takes the identity of Xin. Hawick Lau as Bai Zheng Jie/ Bai Lang
Amazing performance delivered by Hawick, he portrayed the mobster character very well and displayed his emotions and feelings for Jiang Xin perfectly. He would do his best to protect her and I've lost count of how many times he saved her.

Tiffany Tang as Jiang Xin
I hope you have not gotten sick of her, she has been appearing in front of your screens every other day. With that said, one can't help but question her acting abilities. She has shown no signs of improvement and her performance here is mediocre. I hated her character as the drama progresses, like how she didn't appreciated the help Bai Lang gave.
Tony Yang as Sheng Jie Wen/ Sheng Shao
Tony did his job, and the pairing of him and Du Xiao Han was so much better than with Jiang Xin. His acting here was not as natural as his Taiwan dramas, and he appeared injured oftenly.
Yang Rong as Du Xiao Han
Yang Rong was the one who served up some serious acting chops and delivered an impressive performance. Her character had much of a use here and had more dimensions than Jiang Xin. She was vicious and selfish, who will do anything to get what she wants.
She also has the best costume. She looks, dare I say beautiful in rags and even more gorgeous in expensive ladylike wear. She can pull off both the evil and kind personalities, which Tiffany can't.
Hands down, Best Performance!
Watch it for Hawick and Yang Rong! They deserved it!

[Drama Reviews] Tiger Cubs 2
Tiger Cubs 2 Review
Cast:
Joe Ma as Chin Hon To
Linda Chung as Chung Wai Yan
Mandy Wong as So Man Keung
Him Law as Yu Hok Lai
Oscar Leung as Chung Chok Yuen
Christine Kuo as Ting Wai Wai
Review:
Tiger Cubs was brilliant and amazing making it one of the best tvb drama in recent years. However, it's sequel was no match for it's prequel. Everything was not up to par including the setting and acting. The guest stars were much better and memorable, but where is Kenneth Ma as promised?
Joe Ma - Chin Hon To
Reprising the same role, I was expecting the same acting chops he delivered in the prequel or even better, however he just seems incapable to lead and had zero chemistry with Linda.
Linda Chung - Chung Wai Yan
If you follow me enough, you will know that i'm a die hard Linda fan. Honestly, her acting in this drama was over the top and terrible. Those popping eyes, clenched jaw scenes appeared in every other episode, which annoyed me to no end.
Oscar Leung - Chung Chok Yuen
Oscar you can act, but stop winking so hard! Ah Yuen and Wai Wai is cute but has less screentime.
Him Law as Yu Hok Lai
His acting was alright, but his character is seriously frustrating and immature. Too rash and stubborn, I literally skimmed through all his argument scenes with Chin Sir.
Mandy Wong as So Man Keung
Ah Keung was weak, and emotional. Nothing much on the acting, as she always delivers. She looks quite pale and haggard here in comparison to all her other dramas.
The Guest Stars
Jade Leung, Johnson Li, Nancy Wu, Pal Sinn and Koo Ming Wah were all good and did what was required. Thanking them here for making this drama slightly better.
What is Tiger Cubs 2 trying to prove? Prove that Linda can be a tough madam? or a 2 ep 1 case drama can beat it's prequel? No. Tvb just proved that they can't make sequels, as evident in The Hippocratic Crush 2, Ghetto Justice 2 and Come On, Cousin which was not as bad as this.

[Drama Reviews] Brother's Keeper
Brother's Keeper Review
This is probably the first review of a TVB drama i have done..
Brother's Keeper finished airing the finale yesterday! I can't believe that the series has ended. Brother's Keeper is one of the better series this year. I think this is the only series i had watched from the very first ep till the last.
Ruco Chan as Sam Sir / Kiu Tin Seng
I really enjoyed Ruco's portrayal of Sam! The last ep, we can all see that he was so immersed in his role. His eyes really showed hatred towards the 'Guai Ye' who raped Tina Shek. I hope that Ruco wins Best Actor this year! Just to add on, he did a lot of things for Linda but Linda didn't understand him..
Kristal Tin as Yiu Man Ying
My Favourite Character has got to be Kristal's portrayal of 'Chan Kai Ying'. She really bought the character alive! She really showed loyalty towards Edwin and her crying scenes are well done. I actually prefer her to be with Edwin but i guess Louis is just as good to her.
Linda Chung as Rachel Cheuk
Linda is supposedly my favourite character but her acting in this show is way dramatic and over the top. Her best scene for me is the part she forgave Ruco in the hospital. Her crying scenes are also good but her screams just came off as weird to me. As you guys know, i'm a huge Linda fan. I want her to win Best Actress but not for Brother's Keeper though.
Edwin Siu as Law Wai Shun
Edwin is ok in this series. He did his job , most of his screen time are dedicated to ' Peanuts Candy' lol. Nothing more to emphasize on..
Best Couple : Linda and Ruco are so sweet! & Kristal and Edwin
Best New Comer:
Ankie Belke , she did well considering this is only her first drama and she have the looks to go further.
Best Performer in this drama: Ruco and Kristal
Ratings: 8/10
