[Drama Reviews] 寂寞空庭春欲晚 Chronicles of Life

Synopsis:
A simple duet of musical pipes would instigate a complicated love story. During Emperor Kang Xi's 18th year of reign, he was escorted by imperial guard Nalan Rong Ruo during an outing. While Kang Xi played the song "Moon Rising" on his reed pipe, someone was accompanying him on her pan pipe from a distant location. Rong Ruo realized that it was his cousin, Wei Lin Lang, and was overcome with emotion. Kang Xi then ordered Prince Fu Quan to find the palace maid playing the pan pipe so that she could be betrothed to Rong Ruo. However, upon finding Lin Lang, Fu Quan realized that Kang Xi also had feelings for her, thus he secretly decided to pull a switch by selecting someone else to be betrothed to Rong Ruo and ordered Lin Lang to serve Kang Xi instead. It was only after Kang Xi fell deeply in love with Lin Lang that he learned she was actually the cousin Rong Ruo was in love with all along...

[Drama Reviews] Lady and the Liar 千金女贼

[Drama Reviews] Lady and the Liar 千金女贼
I am currently watching Cruel Romance starring Joe Chen and Huang Xiao Ming and since i finished Lady and the Liar, i thought the setting and storyline was kind of similar and here you go, a drama review;)

Yes, Lady and the Liar was a huge mess, tons of loopholes and yet it is strangely addictive.
It started off pretty well, but becomes draggy and pointless towards the end. Nonetheless, still a good catch with a great cast.

Synopsis:
Set in Shanghai's 1930's, Jiang Xin (Tiffany Tang) is a young lady who was originally an heir to a rich family, is in search to find her family. Due to an accident, Xin loses her memory, and therefore, Du Xiao Han (Yang Rong) takes the identity of Xin. While the real Jiang Xin falls into the hands of Bai Zhangjie, a powerful business man, her previous lover, Sheng Jie Wen (Tony Yang) had been searching for Xin.
 Source from Wiki

Hawick Lau as Bai Zheng Jie/ Bai Lang
Amazing performance delivered by Hawick, he portrayed the mobster character very well and displayed his emotions and feelings for Jiang Xin perfectly. He would do his best to protect her and I've lost count of how many times he saved her.

Tiffany Tang as Jiang Xin
I hope you have not gotten sick of her, she has been appearing in front of your screens every other day. With that said, one can't help but question her acting abilities. She has shown no signs of improvement and her performance here is mediocre. I hated her character as the drama progresses, like how she didn't appreciated the help Bai Lang gave.

Tony Yang as Sheng Jie Wen/ Sheng Shao
Tony did his job, and the pairing of him and Du Xiao Han was so much better than with Jiang Xin. His acting here was not as natural as his Taiwan dramas, and he appeared injured oftenly.

Yang Rong as Du Xiao Han
Yang Rong was the one who served up some serious acting chops and delivered an impressive performance. Her character had much of a use here and had more dimensions than Jiang Xin. She was vicious and selfish, who will do anything to get what she wants.
She also has the best costume. She looks, dare I say beautiful in rags and even more gorgeous in expensive ladylike wear. She can pull off both the evil and kind personalities, which Tiffany can't.
Hands down, Best Performance!

Watch it for Hawick and Yang Rong! They deserved it!
Ratings: 3.5/5
